Settings

The games ware only tested in 1366×768 resolution with reduced detail (in most cases the settings were Medium) and without using anti-aliasing in an effort to achieve a good compromise between quality and performance. This time I focused only on testing in DX11 mode because i used the most powerful version of the graphic core of Llano. Where possible, 16x anisotropic filtering enabled. I’ve limited  programs testing overall performance because things there are pretty clear there, and I chose to test more gaming performance, as this is the real advantage of Llano. During the tests I set a fixed 512 MB RAM for the graphic adapter.

Cinebench 11.5 – commonly used for testing the performance in 3D modeling and rendering. Based on the popular engine Cinema 4D. I used the default settings.
7-zip 9.20 – quite popular archiver. I used the built-in test with 32 MB dictionary and 4 threads per processor.
x.264 bench – test using the open source codec x.264. I used the default settings of version 4.0.
True Crypt 7.1 – popular program for encrypting data. It has a built-in test using different combinations of algorithms. I’ve set the buffer amount to 500 MB and measured the results in the test Serpent-Twofish-AES.
3DMark 11 – The new version of 3DMark 11 is fully DX11-based and serves as a good starting point for assessing the performance of graphics adapters in this API. The test took place in the system Performance.
Dragon Age 2 – the latest offspring of Bioware is another popular role-playing game. Updated graphics engine uses the latest version of DirectX and loads graphics adapters very seriously. I used the Medium setting of the game, and disabled Screen Space Ambient Occlusion, Diffusion Depth of Field, High Quality Blur, but left High Resolution Textures enabled. The fps were detected with FRAPS in brief walk to one of the locations of the game.
Formula 1 2011 – this is racing simulator by Codemasters, for the hi tech sport of Formula 1 in version of year 2011. DirectX 11 is used very actively by the graphics engine in the form of tessellation, soft shadows and compute shaders. High profile was used in DX11 mode and the test was built-in sequence. The results are averages of 2 performances.
Crysis 2 – successor to the popular game used for years as standard graphical load surprises with much more optimized graphics that go faster, and also look better. It was patched to support DX11 and got packages with tessellated models and higher resolution textures. The settings were the lowest, which oddly enough in the game are marked as High. High resolution textures were deactivated, and Motion Blur left to Medium. I’ve tested with outdoor walk and the frame rate was detected with FRAPS.
Civilization V – another representative of the great turn-based strategy series that uses actively DX11 and tessellation. All settings were set to average values, where possible, or low. Use the integrated test LateGameView. Due to the specific internal settings that was the only test carried out in resolution 1680×1050.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – successor to Oblivion is finally on the market and offers exceptional quality graphics, but only DirectX 9 support, and addictive gameplay. Testing was held in settings Ultra + 16xAF but with AA turned off. The test was a short walk in the picturesque landscapes of the game.
DeusEx: Human Revolution – new SquareEnix game is the successor to the popular cyberpunk titles from the past. The addicting gameplay is combined with very interesting and fascinating story about a possible version of the near future. The game uses DX11, I’ve enabled tessellation, turned AA off, turned and left 16xAF, all other values where left at the standard setting (Normal).
